Entry fee graciously covered by work!

With barely enough time for the three peaks blisters to calm down, TEAM BIS are on the road again - this time to the London Triathlon.  Aug 9th will see Si McKinna and Tom Jaggard tackle the Olympic distance triathlon - 1,500m Swim (Si), 40Km Bike (TJ) & 10Km Run (Si). It’s our first time, so we are simply hoping for a finish this time out!

Tom will be enduring 3 massive bike races in that 1 week and will raising money for a good cause - more info and how to help here shortly - well done to Tom for completing his three race challenge - see all the info and there is of course, still time to pledge - take a look at www.justgiving.com/tomjaggard

Just a couple of pictures from the event - and of course there’s the official race finish footage, care of Virgin Media, click to enlarge:

We achieved our target of safely finishing the course intact (well, less the tops of Mac’s nipples - see pic left!!) our times:
swim = 0:39:15
bike =  1:38:05
run    = 0:50:53
Tom’s bike time included a bloody unfortunate puncture!!!!

BLENHEIM SPRINT TRIATHLON - 06/06/09

Our 2009 Tri season got underway with a freebie at Blenheim (thanks Virgin!).  Sprint event this time, so not quite so much pressure! It was a great day out, only spoilt by the constant rain! results:

Overall, we came in 1hour 32minutes 09seconds - 79th place of 188 finishers, breakdown:

Simon (swim):            17m 45s (111) - Serious kick in the head at the start!
Trans1 (lake to bike)  3m 11s (24) -     That felt about a mile long, and steeper than the Ben!
Tom (bike):                  45m 14s (102) - Awesome ride given the dire conditions
Trans2 (bike to run)   1m 19s (32) -      Faster than a ferrari pitstop
Kevin (run):                 24m 42s (34) -   That’s seriously fast! and he was moaning it was slow!!

Thanks again to the company for our free place, we’ll next appear at London in August, watch this site!

This link will take you to the Virginmedia page, where you can watch us cross the line - just enter bib no 5215!
